My brief time in Salamanca was made up of coffee and lots of pastries. It must have been due to the cold and rainy October weather, and the fact that I just came from Southern Spain. But I thoroughly enjoyed the empty streets as opposed to a crowded college town. Since I only had less than a day, I decided to head to Salamanca’s famous plaza. I was hungry by then (what else is new?) and decided to look for a local tapas bar. To my surprise, I couldn’t find one in the area. The whole street leading to the plaza was filled with pizza parlors and every other American fast food joint.
When I was in Spain, one of my favorite past times was hanging out at a plaza and enjoy a nice cup of coffee. And maybe some churros to go with it. Here are some photos I took when I was in Salamanca:
