I am always excited when I travel to a new place for the first time. It is one of those specials moments that can only happen once, like a first date or a first kiss. Everything relies on that first impression. My first time in Poland was memorable despite the rainy weather. I had a short but sweet time. I was only there for four days, but I was able to see and do more than I expected.
I went to Krakow, Warsaw and Wieliczka, and each one was different than the other. Krakow in particular, with its Medieval architecture and Gothic buildings, was a photographer’s paradise. Warsaw, being the country’s capital, was big and modern and Wieliczka gave me a peek into the Polish countryside.

I hard a tough time taking photos inside the Wielizcka Salt Mine, so I apologize for the grainy images. It was pretty dark down there and at times, there was very little light. As much as I love taking photos and getting on social media while traveling, I try to enjoy the moment and take in the amazing sights as much as possible.
Poland’s charm caught me by surprise. I did not have any expectations other than exploring something new, and Poland gave much more. I certainly loved Krakow and I wish I spent more time in Warsaw, but that’s the beauty of it…. it left me wanting more.

The Wielizcka salt mine photos are amazing- they remind me of the mines of Moria in the Lord of the Rings. 🙂 The architecture in Warsaw is beautiful. What a lovely post.
Lovely photos dear! You seemed to have gotten a taste of Poland’s variety of facets! And yea, I totally agree that we should enjoy the moment, even though it’s good to take photos of where we are.
I loved Poland but didn’t make it to Warsaw. Your photos have inspired me to go back soon!
It must be so wonderful to walk through those lanes. Beautiful streets… It’s so quiet and clean out there
What great photos! Poland is so high up on my list, it’s got such stunning architecture and such a lot of interesting history too!
This brought back so many good memories for me! I really enjoyed my time in Poland. Such a charming country. Lovely photos.
I can’t wait to go to Poland. Your pictures are gorgeous!
Wow.. Can definitely see why you’ve enjoyed your visit.. Poland looks incredible! Glad to see that despite the weather, you were able to see great sites and have taken awesome photos too.. Such gorgeous photos!
The most interesting shot for me is of the church. It seems to have such an intricate design. I would love to see it up close. And the cobbled streets are something I love about Europe. So rare here in the states…
Some of those photos are seriously wanderlust inducing! I’m very curious about Poland and what you captured looks great. Thank you for sharing.
Last year, I was able to fit Krakow on my Central European trip. I had doubts about adding the city to the trip but I am glad I did because I ended up falling in love with the country. I want to return and visit other cities. Like you mentioned, it was exciting to discover a new place. But in Poland’s case, it was even better because since the country took me completely by surprise.
Absolutely stunning photos! I totally want to go to Poland and can’t wait to visit there. I am sure this country is often overlooked which is why I want to visit.
