I just got back from a two-week Eurotrip which included Oktoberfest in Munich and let me share my awesome experience while it is still fresh in my mind!
First, let me say that I’m usually NOT a beer drinker. But I always say that if I have to splurge on beer and go on a beer boozefest, I might as well do it in Munich during Oktoberfest. And boy did I!
- If you want the full Oktoberfest experience with a group of people, make sure you reserve a table in one of the more popular beer gardens. My personal favorite is the Hofbrahaus!
- It’s a good time to play dress up. Wear your dirndl and lederhosen or if you want to keep it simple, coordinate colors, patterns, and outfits with your group. But don’t be pressured to dress up. You can wear anything! Everyone will be too drunk to notice anyway.
- You can also just walk in any beer gardens with available seating anytime. My friends and I did not reserve a table but we were still able to go in to three beer gardens: Hofbrauhaus, J&W and Paulaner.
There’s nothing left to say really but DRINK UP and HAVE FUN! It is such an amazing experience especially if you are an adult beverage enthusiast and a beer drinker. And yes, I daresay, at the end of this trip I have been converted into a beer lover. To be more specific, German beer lover. I have never consumed so much beer in my life.
PROST!!!! HAPPY OKTOBERFEST!!! 🙂
