I have come across many forks in the road and I think as I’ve matured, I’ve been rational and smart about making decisions in my life. Safe decisions usually. The “right” ones maybe or even the “standard”. BUT… yes there’s a but. But that gets boring. My personality refuses to be bottled in and playing it safe can mean missing out on all the amazing things that could have happened.
Lately, I have been pursuing the more challenging paths, the grey areas and giving in to passion. Somehow, I found my courage again. And at this moment, I will just do what makes me happy and follow my heart. Wherever it may go. To Chicago. To Madrid, maybe. To London, I hope! Or back to Connecticut. As my friends would tell me, “Do you, Boo. Do you.”
Wherever I may end up, I can rest assured there will be no regrets. And if I do, I hope I will have the strength to change them. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I – I took the one less traveled by, and tat has made all the difference.
Reading this poem again made me reflect and I hope you will too!
